Striptastic Moment: You wouldn't think that "American Idol" would be a likely place to find a memorable striptease moment, but we have Kara DioGuardi to thank for that. She strutted out on the "Idol" stage last year in a tiny bikini to show up a contestant called Bikini Girl, who was very obviously lacking in the vocal talent department. Have to say it: Kara looked enviably good in a bikini. So good that Bikini Girl is probably sporting some normal clothes these days.

Striptastic Moment: Hef's ex-lady-friend Holly Madison has moved up and onwards in the world with her very own Las Vegas striptease revue called "Peepshow." It debuted this year and it must be doing well, because she just signed on for another year of crazy-sexy fun. Who knew that there was such a high demand to see famous former Playboy models strip down to their unmentionables?

Striptastic Moment: Leave it to Lady Gaga to get all cameras on her during a New York baseball game. The famously freaky singer stripped down to a studded bikini while taking in a Mets game this year and decided to lash out at prying photogs by flipping the bird. Wait, so she stripped down at a baseball game in an effort not to be noticed? Hey, Lady, those are some seriously mixed signals

Striptastic Moment: One reason why Jamie Lee Curtis's strip scene in "True Lies" made such an impact is you really didn't see it coming. By the mid-'90s, Jamie Lee took on more mom-ish territory in movies, and her character in this film was the mousiest, nerdiest mom ever. So when she tore those '80s sleeves off her dress, poured vase water in her hair and used the bed like a stripper pole, audiences were as amazed as her "True Lies" husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Striptastic Moment: Dita may make her living as a burlesque performer and model, but she is most wellknown for her fabulously sexy champagne glass routine. The former Mrs. Marilyn Manson showed off the goods by performing inside a giant champagne glass at the Cannes Film Festival, indoctrinating the previously unaware into the cult of Dita. Definitely gives new life and meaning to the idiom "tall drink of water."

Striptastic Moment: Madonna's done her fair share of stripping in her time, but never as blatantly as in her video for "Open Your Heart." Madge does a sexy dance in a peepshow setting wearing nothing but a shiny black bodysuit complete with a trademark cone bra, of course. It's a great video, but veers off toward the end when she ends up kissing a little boy on the cheek and dancing with him in the street dressed in a baggy suit. Not sure how that transition works, but whatever, it's Madonna!

Striptastic Moment: Remember when Christina Aguilera and a gang of pop culture divas covered that hit Patti LaBelle song "Lady Marmalade" for the "Moulin Rouge" soundtrack? It was pretty much played incessantly for all of 2001, and the video garnered some serious attention -- most likely because it featured the hot songstresses gyrating around in sexy burlesque outfits. Don't know about you, but we'll probably hear Xtina belting out "Creole lady Marmalaaaaaaaade!" ringing in our heads for the rest of our lives.

Striptastic Moment: We can't get away with a discussion of famous stripping moments in pop culture without mentioning two ladies who started it all. Josephine Baker was the epitome of exotic sexiness in Paris during the Roaring '20s, performing for many years in the famous Folies Bergère review. Gypsy Rose Lee held down the burlesque fort in the U.S. during the '30s and '40s and was known for her humorous act and emphasis on the "tease" of striptease. Either way, Dita, Xtina and the rest of the nekkid ladies on this list owe a lot to these two old-school divas.

Striptastic Moment: "Showgirls" marks Elizabeth Berkley's most (in)famous big-screen role, as drifter-turned-stripper-turned-showgirl Nomi Malone. The film had such a vast amount of sex and nudity that it garnered an NC-17 rating at the time of release, the only major film with that rating to get such wide mainstream distribution. Striptastic Moment: Next to "Showgirls," Demi Moore's "Striptease" seems like a nice family movie you might watch with your granny. Still, it includes many a scene with the topless and toned Demi showing off her goods for all eyes to see. Moore was paid $12.5 million at the time to star in the film, which was a then-record payment for an actress. Considering her age-defying body 14 years later, Demi should probably consider making a sequel
